i’m thinking the caps could be filled with cork on the bottoms to prevent scratching…

For those of you trying to figure out how the caps stay together: Looks like each cap has holes drilled through them …and then they are all attached together using wire. That’s my best guess :-)

to keep them from scratching the table i put felt under the caps

To prevent the scratching I just placed bottle caps inside one another. I bent the one underneath a little, made sure that they would fit then superglued. That way the sharp edges never touched the bottom.

What is suggested to glue the bottle caps together? I am struggling with getting them to not fall apart.

I tried solder but the caps are not good conductors since they’re painted, and so I had a very hard time to get it to work, then the solder would crack or come off as soon as the connection was stressed. I tried hot glue and it works if you use a lot of it, but it doesn’t look as nice and clean. Still looking for that perfect answer…

I feel like the bottom of these would scratch the table…Are they filed or filled to prevent that?

great question… have you figured out a solution? I have been saving bottle caps and trying to find a way to use them for a while and this is a great use, but the scratching is a big concern, especially if anyone wants to give them as gifts!
