I know from some recent discussions on another blog that many many people are frightened of pressure cookers. I am too, because the only image in my mind is my mother’s old cooker, hissing and spitting away, and rocking back and forth on the burner. Yikes! Duck and cover, everyone!
Well, have you seen what pressure cookers look like now? They’re completely different, modern and sleek like this one from Cooking.com:
Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker
I heard from Jill Nussinow, the Veggie Queen after the discussion wound down. Jill is passionate about vegetarian foods — foods that come from Mother Earth, especially vegetables and items such as mushrooms, sea vegetables, flax and tempeh. She is also passionate about pressure cooking and the time that it can save you. Jill has created a DVD called Pressure Cooking: a fresh look, delicious dishes in minutes to step you through using a pressure cooker of your own, and you don’t have to have a particular brand to be able to benefit from her guidance!

I have wanted to buy a pressure cooker for some time now, but didn’t want to spend the money if I wouldn’t use it. This DVD would be a great teaching tool for me, and give me the confidence and know-how to be able to use one.
Please send one to me! I just snuck two pressure cookers into the house… I need to cook in them quickly to convince my husband they should stay! If I make some great food, he won’t be too mad…(I usually get my way, but I’ve run out of kitchen space) Thanks!

Free? An instructional DVD would be cool to have – this is the scariest item in the house!
I could use a pressure cooker…… I am trying to cook new things.
I have avoided purchasing a pressure cooker ou of fear of using it. This DVD would be a great held in overcoming this unreasonable fear.

I would definitely love to have this.
Thanks
I’m one of those pressure cooker phobics, having made one explode once by overfilling it (I think). No one injured but we had to re-paint the kitchen. I was making borscht! LOL.
I understand the newer versions have safety features, so I would be interested in learning from a video.
Thanks Cyndi.
I don’t have apressure cooker, but maybe this DVD would inspire me to get one.
Thanks for the giveaway.

I’ve always wanted one of these…good luck everyone.
I have never used a pressure cooker, but my grandmother has. I remember watching in the kitchen, aghast as I thought an explosion was inevitable. I would love to learn how to use one of these, the food gram made was always SO good!
I would love a DVD. I’m a visual learner. Plus mine is a hand-me-down probably at least 25 years old. I could make good use of it.
When I was a little girl in the early 60′s my mother, a working mom of 3, used to use her pressure cooker until one day the top almost blew my head off…to this day, when I hear the word Pressure Cooker I get chills up my spine.
I am afraid that I will never be able to use a pressure cooker and I so want to try…how do I rid myself of this fear?
I fell in love w/ the pressure cooker this weekend – made jambalya, and the brown rice was perfect–I am no longer afraid but instead, am addicted to looking for recipes!
I want one! Pressure cookers are like time machines. I love these things!
