Right up there with the avocado slicer, the melon slicer ($14.99) is another obscure but interesting tool. Just push down and turn into a seeded melon and voila! Perfect slices!

My MIL has one of these and loves it. They eat cantaloupe all summer long, so it got a lot of use this past summer.
