On a Battle of My Own

Pardon the sporadic postings here at Eating Fabulous. I am currently spending time with my father, who is battling late stage lung cancer. The last few days I’ve realized how easy it is to identify food items and supplements which may help improve the quality of life for cancer patients. The problem, however, lies on a patient’s faltering appetite; even drinking enough water is a major feat!

For all readers, and those who have sent me product samples for review, I ask for your patience. I’d like to devote most of the next couple of weeks to my Dad and most likely, I’d be offline. I’ll get back, I promise, and most probably with an altered perspective on health and fighting disease. I hope I don’t lose many of you in the meantime.

That’s really tough. My condolences. No need to apologize – put your concentration and focus where it needs to go.

Hi there, Ruth. I’m so sorry to hear about your dad’s condition, and applaud your efforts to put him first during this difficult time. As tough as it may seem, don’t forget to take care of yourself, too. I know there’s a Mayo Clinic article on eating when your appetite falters (based on condition or medication) — if I can dig it back up, I’ll shoot it your way.

Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad to cancer a few years ago and I know how hard it is. Spend as much time with him as you can.
