Tortilla press

If you eat a lot of tortillas and enjoy making your own, here is a dedicated gadget specifically for that task.  I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve never made my own, but it is on my list of things to try before I leave the kitchen for good!  Many times I won’t bother with a gadget that’s a single-use item, but these really do intrigue me.

This particular press is around $20.

This wonderful cast aluminum Tortilla Press works so easy. Simply place balls of corn dough into the center of the Tortilla Press and apply pressure with lever. The dough is now flattened into a round and flat Tortilla.

A Tortilla Recipe is also included.

Well yeah! I can certainly see the appeal of an electric model. It probably has more even heating, plus if you could find one that you didn’t have to have shipped, it’s not much more than the tortilla press.

might I suggest an electric one?

I have and use a Villaware electric model that is unfortunatly no longer produced. I bought it 15 years ago and never have gone back to the non-electric models.
Another outstanding appliance is the Hamilton Beach flat bread maker that now only allows you to make flat breads, but also has an area on top to grill/heat up the ingredients for wraps.
