A chemical, Bisphenol-A, an integral part of polycarbonate plastic, is found in a large array of products in the market.
Bisphenol-A is suspected to be link to cancer and other developmental problems in humans.
Since December 1, 2006, Francisco has banned the sale of all products made for children under 3 which contain Bisphenol-A – a new law that was modelled after a European Union ban that started earlier this year.
As a campaign to educate the public about Bisphenol-A, Born Free Baby Products has launched a new line of Bisphenol-A-free baby bottles, training cups and other products.
According to Ron Vigdor, President of Born Free, LLC:
“It is time to educate the public that Bisphenol-A is present in 90-95% of all baby bottles. Born Free is committed to the highest standards in baby feeding systems. Our products are made from Bisphenol-A free plastics.
We plan to do everything we can to make the public aware of the presence of Bisphenol-A in children’s products and continue to expand the availability of our alternative products.”
