If you have a hair straightener or a curling iron and you use it when your children are around, you’re taking a risk, say medical professionals in the United Kingdom. Some doctors are reporting a sharp rise of burns from these tools:
The number of children hospitalised for burns has risen by more than 50 per cent in the past decade, even though the total number of accidents involving the age group has decreased. (Times OnLine.UK)

As adults using these tools, we know that they can get quite hot, but did you know that they get as hot as 220C (428F)? Of course, we also know that they don’t cool down instantly, so they’re still dangerous for a good few minutes after we’ve finished using them.
