Enter to Win a New Women’s Health Contest: Facelift in a Bag (worth $100+) and a $50 Bruno Jamais Restaurant Gift Certificate

We’ve had a great turnout for our last two contests (over 100 entries for the $50 Target gift card!), and I hope we’ll have some good competition this time around, too. Here’s what’s up for grabs:

Frownies’ Facelift in a Bag (retails at $139.00)

Here’s what Frownies has to say about their product: “This practical, easy-to-maintain skin care regimen incorporates the proven power of Frownies Facial Pads PLUS biologically active antioxidants, natural extracts and hydrators, visible results in as little as 14 days!” You can get more product details here.

$50 Gift Certificate to Bruno Jamais Restaurant in New York City

An award-winning contemporary French restaurant on the Upper East Side in Manhattan with a menu that makes me drool just reading it (and believe me, I wish I was eligible to win my own contest!).

Our winner will receive both the Facelift in a Bag and the gift certificate. If you don’t live in the NYC area and aren’t planning to visit, you can gift the card to someone else (not me, sadly) or you can decline to accept it and I will pick another winner from our list of entrants until I find someone who wants it.

How to Enter

This is so easy, you’ll love it. Between now and 11:59 PM EST (GMT-5) on Friday, March 14, leave a comment on this post describing one of the following (and cutting and pasting the examples obviously does not count — you have to tell your own story):

  • Your best or worst skin care product or experience (like, “I will never use ABC again because XYZ”)
  • Your best or worst restaurant or restaurant experience (like, “NAME is my favorite restaurant ever because BLAH BLAH BLAH”)

I will put the names of all of the commenters into the list randomizer at Random.org and the commenter who ends up in the number 1 position on the third randomization will be the winner! The winner will be announced on Monday, March 17. I am not eligible to win, but everyone else is! Each commenter gets one entry, so it doesn’t matter how many times you comment as long as you comment at least once. I will announce the winner and the decision will be final. It’s totally random, so how could anyone complain? The winner will be notified by e-mail and the prizes sent via postal mail.

Promotional comments will not be eligible to win. If you work for a skin care company, this is not the place to advertise your products in the comment. You can purchase advertising on this site if you want to reach my audience. Same with restaurateurs. Only real life experiences are eligible, and I reserve the right to reject any comment I feel is inappropriately promotional at my sole discretion, no exceptions, all decisions final.

So, leave a comment telling Lively Women readers about your best or worst experience with a skin care product/provider or restaurant, and be automatically entered into a random drawing to win a $50 Bruno Jamais gift certificate and Frownies’ Facelift in a Bag! What are you waiting for? Enter now.

There is a fabulous little bistro here in Denver called 240 Union. But their managers would chew out employees in front of their customers. It made me so embarrassed for them that I told the manager I couldn’t eat there anymore!

A friend who was selling Mary Kay products did my face and I looked fabulous….But when I tried to do it myself– I didn’t look quite as good. Just didn’t have that magic touch I guess.

My worst skincare experience must have been when I went to an Aveda salon and was talked into getting a facial with makeup afterwards. It was great to be pampered and felt wonderful. Afterwards, I chatted a bit with other customers and a friend I met on the street. I went home to get ready for a date, when I looked in the mirror and my face was fire-engine red with blotches! I had an allergic reaction to something, later on my friend who I had met asked me if I was feeling better!

I used to bartend at a fine-dining restaurant and the best experience for me is when customers either comes by the bar or send their server over to compliment my mixing skills.

Best Skin Care Experience – A recent trip to the spa at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, where I received a coco butter wrap and coconut oil massage. My skin felt glorius and the fragrance was delicious!!!
Worst Skin Care Experience – A homemade exfoliating scrub when I was a teenager – it was made from instant grits and brown sugar – it was a huge mess and my skin was raw for days after! Yuck!

My best experience with a skin care product is this terrific Patricia Wexler Skin Regenerating Serum I have been using since January. My skin has never looked better and it feels so smooth.I also love her under-eye brightening cream. It is the only product that has ever actually lightened my dark circles a bit.

My best restaurant experience ever was at Nino’s on the Upper East Side because it was the best service I have ever had while dining. Everyone there is so attentive and kind and Nino himself even came to our table to chat with us, which really impressed me! The food was very authentic Italian , the wine fantastic, and the ambiance so old-school charming and romantic. All of those elements combined just made that my best restaurant experience ever.

My worst skincare experience was with Clean and Clear Blackhead face wash. When me and my boyfriend woke up both of us had totally broke out like we were teenagers or something. This is th worst facewash I have ever used. Don’t buy it!

  14. By Sue

Worst skin care product experience: I slowly noticed I had a sensitivity to benzoyl peroxide, but didn’t accept it until I used the Neutrogena Acne Mask. I woke up and my face was so irriated that I essentially had chemical burns on my face!

  15. By Ladida

The best beauty product for me would be Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Toner. It has all-natural ingredients, non-drying ad won’t clog your pores. Plus, I notice that my blemishes have been gradually disappaearing. I bought a big bottle already. :)

Worst restaurant experience: we went to a fancy restaurant in a Swiss ski resort town for dinner one evening a couple years ago. We chose this particular restaurant because the menu outside mentioned they had a vegetarian prix fix meal. Sounded good to me! Turns out, everything but the main course had meat in it. When I complained, the waiter argued with me – like I should have known that ‘vegetarian menu’ doesn’t mean that the food is vegetarian. Right, buddy. I wish I remembered the restaurants name!

I swear by Ponds Cold Cream. So far, that’s the perfect cream for my face, which gets very dry during the winter. It’s a little greasy when first applied but it gets absorbed really well, and I have none of those dry areas around the mouth, which I had with other, more expensive products.

My best dining experience? It’s in a small place in Harford County (Maryland) called Bonefish Grill – great seafood, very friendly and experienced staff, and the presentation was just fabulous! The staff even pour wine like it’s the most precious liquid on earth!

IT WAS A SMALL, LOCALLY OWNED ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN MY AREA. I HAD ORDERED A SPAGHETTI DISH AND WHEN THE WAITRESS HANDED IT TO ME FROM ACCROSS THE TABLE – IT SLID OFF INTO MY LAP. I WAS WEARING A BEAUTIFUL CREAM COLOR DRESS WHICH HAD BEEN RUINED.
