Caramel apples are a wonderful treat for a fall harvest or birthday party. They’re easy to make, and fun to eat. Here’s my favorite caramel apple recipe.
What you’ll need:
6 granny smith apples (or another tart apple)
6 wooden sticks
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 bag of caramels (unwrapped)
2 tablespoons of water
no stick cooking spray
Aluminum foil
Insert a stick into the core of each apple. Combine the caramels, vanilla, and water into a saucepan and melt on low heat.
Dip the apples into the melted caramel to coat the bottom and sides. Sit the caramel apples on the aluminum foil that’s been sprayed with non-stick spray.
You can dress up your caramel apples by sprinkling them with nuts, crushed M and M’s, candy sprinkles, crushed candies, Reeses Pieces, crushed cookies, mini marshmallows, or crushed graham crackers.
You can also drizzle melted chocolate, white chocolate, or decorator colors, on your caramel apples.
Enjoy!
