Science and Nature DNA Extraction Kit

Genetics and science are everywhere even at the London Toy Fair. I attended the Toy Fair today for PlayLibrary.com and came across the Science and Nature Australia booth. Before I found them, I had asked at the booth selling Science Museum kits whether they had any for forensic science. They didn’t and only had a chemistry set. How old school.

Science and Nature, however, has several different science kits and toys. One is Biology Madness that includes instructions for 26 experiments and a DVD with five experiments filmed. The experiments cover many areas of science and include these about forensic science and genetics:

• Isolate your own DNA
• Kiwi-ous about DNA?
• Inheritance detective

The kits have enough basic info for most budding scientists and their families and would be perfect for an elementary school level science fair project. Just don’t tell Prof. James Alan Fox what you’re up to. ;)
