Which one is your favorite? I like the Hoosier, all the pottery ones, and the little germ.
I ordered the Umbra duo pumps for my bed and breakfast, and while I love the way they look the pump isn’t pumping! Am trying to find replacement pumps that will dispense shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion or I’ll have to buy replacements – will be a pity, but these need to work every day for our guests, and they just don’t :(
Unfortunately, I can’t recommend the Umbra Duo at all.

Jennifer! I’m not the novelty soap pump type, but it’s not bad for a cat soap pump. : ) Thankfully though, people don’t buy me cat gifts…
@Kamber I think both the expensive ones are pretty, but no way would I buy.
@Peggy I was just kidding about the cat one. You don’t really strike me as the novelty soap pump type. That teardrop one is my favorite from umbra – it would look great with stainless steel :)
That cat dispenser is cool. It’s much more tasteful than some cat stuff you might see. It has a hint of folk art.
My favorite is the teardrop kitchen pump since it would go with my stainless steel microwave and toaster oven.

You can make liquid soap. Save up enough slivers to equal 3-4 oz of soap. Leave a gallon of water on your counter for a couple days – you want distilled water.
Chop the soap up super small (or grate – but grating slivers?) boil soap and h2o together. Getting the thickness right is the hard part. It depends on the soap. If you add 3 oz or so, you can start with 3-4 cups H2o and go from there.
When making it, you need to let the original h2o/soap mix boil some, add water, mix, (repeat). You’ll be able to see when it’s the right consistency. You can add a few drops of essential oils too.

I was wondering if you (or any readers) knew of a cheap way to make your own liquid soap from all those crazy “soap slivers” that slime around the kitchen, bathrooms, showers and tubs?
There has to be a way to liquify them, right? Or am I in la-la land?
I think the firsthand soap pump is pretty, but I wouldn’t buy it. My faves are either the dragonfly (really pretty) or the orvino soap pump. Also I at our local pottery painting store they have some for you to paint. Which I think is cool because you can make it for your own personal taste.
