No baby should go through the torment this little baby had to have went through on a daily basis. Before I get really into it be sure you can handle reading on after just reading the title.

A 17-month-old baby, known only as Baby P, died after he was brutally murdered. Okay, the news is saying after he received 50 injuries and had 60 visits to the ER. So why did this baby not get taken away?
This is the one question many are asking in London. I guess they don’t check out every child’s marks, or ask how something happened. The ministers in noth London borough, Haringey, are now reviewing the case of the three that injured this little boy. His own mother, her boyfriend, plus some other man, all are over 25 and definitely knew what they were doing.
They have figured out the 50 injuries happened within an 8-month period, in which social and health workers paid them visits. But they passed each time so the abuse continued. By the way, this happened last year, they were tried and all cleared of murder.
Some of his injuries:
…..a tooth must have been swallowed after a violent blow to the head, fingernails were missing, eight ribs had been fractured and chocolate was smeared over him to cover his bruises….
Yet, this wasn’t enough to put him in protective services. Two days before his death he was seen by a pediatrician who sent him home. Had this person done a full exam they would’ve known he had a broken back, but he was cranky so they dismissed it…he died two days later. This probably haunts the doctor from that day on and forever.
Thankfully on December 15th a hearing will determine the fate of 3 individuals that took part in his death, they will face up to 14 years in prison. For such a horrible crime I think this is way too little of a sentence. What do you think?

Tracey Connolly, you, alongside your henchmen, are a truly heartless fat idiot who needs to be shot with your henchmen together! How’s that for “comedy”?!

[...] Baby P died of horrible abuse, 55 injuries and several trips to the hospital. Everything failed this poor little guy, from his own mother, hospitals to the social workers. Yes, the hospital and social workers are now trying to make sure it never happens again but it is such a sad case. [...]
I agree with PlatoonSergeant. How about bringing back eye for an eye? Murderers, rapists, molesters, abusers, they all deserve the pain they inflicted on someone else. Especially children. Criminals might think twice if they weren’t treated humanely in prison. Living on our monies. To be released and repeat their crimes. We need some government people with some balls to get a bill or something rolling. I, for one, am tired of the crap. Something needs to be done.

[...] first saw this story when Eliza posted it at BabyLune and then again when reader Rosa sent me an [...]
How devastating. I’m so saddened by this story :(
Myself, being a father of 4 wonderful children (thank the mother for that) thinks that the rule enforcing humane treatment of prisoners should be tossed out the window, when punishment is dealt to these sick individuals. I personally believe these bastards should recieve the same treatment that they dished out. And Yes I am willing to administrate the punishment if they can’t find somebody strong of heart to do it.
Unbelievably tragic. Poor little soul. I do not understand why these people were only charged with ‘allowing a child to die’. Commonsense must dictate that they tortured and brutally murdered him.

[...] Baby Dies after 50 Injuries [...]
That is ridiculous. Some people are sick.
I think it is a way too light sentence. They honestly, should never again be allowed to see the light of day, to take the life of a child is one of the worst crimes but to take it in such a brutal fashion is inconceivable, to be able to do that over and over again to a helpless baby, it sickens me and I honestly think that there has to be something horribly wrong in their heads to do that. As a species, we are programed to protect our young and to instinctively feel a sense of obligation to them, these people make me sick…
actually I’m confused myself on that, here is what I read:
The three were convicted at the Old Bailey in a case that has many echoes of the terrible death of Victoria ClimbiƩ, whose murder eight years ago, in the same north London borough, Haringey, led to widespread changes in child protection.
The woman, 27, and her boyfriend, 32, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and another man, Jason Owen, 36, were convicted of causing or allowing the death of Baby P, whose identity is also protected by a court order. All three were cleared of murder.
but then it goes on to state:
The three defendants will be sentenced on December 15, and face maximum sentences of up to 14 years in prison.
so am confused myself, I there was another death 8 years prior and am wondering if they weren’t involved in it too. But either way this little guy died by a beating that lasted several months and was never helped.
They were cleared of Murder but were also charged and convicted with what is equivelent to homicide. So, according to the convictions, they caused or allowed the baby to die but did not due it with deliberate intent or forethought.
You said they were cleared and then say that they will be sentenced. Um, they should receive life in prison.
