Dee Henderson created this fabulous mosaic style table top and lamp for his son. What college student wouldn’t want one of these? it’s about 95% finished in these shots:

These are the steps Dee writes that he took to create this masterpiece:
- got a couple of kegs from Craig’s List (2 for $15)
- they were in pretty bad shape, but I got it looking pretty good, though the deeper gouges remain
- ran pipe with electrical in it and installed light fixture at top
- you will see has a “proto-type” shade made from Corona advertising
- the table top is made of the beer caps attached with mastic to 3/4″ plywood, and then grouted
- and last but not least, you turn it on/off with a pull chain that has a tapper handle on it

[...] that Dee Henderson shared some really fun bottlecap art awhile back, including a piece that utilized a keg to make a lamp for his son. Well, Dee is back at it! This time, it’s a 5L beer keg table [...]
I’ll make sure Dee knows about your interest, Rebecca :-)
This is too cool! Are you willing to make others for sale? I’m interested in one – just name your price!
I can see how a college boy would love a table like this. What a great use for bottle caps! And what a lucky kid to have a dad who’ll make a table like this for him!
