A few times each year, Food Lion has a special on their store brand milk. The special is buy 6 gallons of milk and get the 7th gallon for free. The Food Lion here is running the special August 20 through December 9. That gives you plenty of time to get free milk.
Some tips:
Check your local Food Lion store to see when they will be running the sale. To get the free milk, make sure that the cashier scans your MVP card. For each gallon you purchase, the cashier should give you a milk coupon at the end of the transaction. You need to save the milk coupons/tickets (not caps) from the transaction. After you have 6 milk coupons, you can turn them in for a free gallon.

it seems our food lion just lowered milk prices so this time around it is actually going to be worth it! i buy 4 gallons of milk every two weeks so this would be great.
Used it and love it since the cheapest milk in our area is at Wal_Mart and FL’s promotion ends up costing less.
Thanks for the tip. We go through 3-4 gallons of milk a week, so no worries about not being able to buy 6 gallons of milk to get that 7th free!
Dave: Whenever I have extra milk, I try to find ways to use it. We make breakfast for supper. We add the milk to the omelets or crepes. There’s always chocolate milk. You can make a cake or you can freeze it to use when making mashed potatoes. Good luck.
There are some ways to get milk cheaper. Some people don’t have a Sam’s in their area though and I know we don’t have a Kroger here. It just depends on where you live and what your needs are. I’ve heard that Sam’s and Aldi have the best milk prices.
I have taken full advantage of this offer and now have 48 pints of unwanted milk.
For the amount of milk we go through Sam’s is the best deal. Our Food Lion charges $4.00 for a gallon, we only pay $3.30 at Sam’s Club. That’s a savings of $4.20 for 6 gallons….and since we buy 2 gallons a week…in the long run it can’t be beat! :o)
We always shop at Food Lion and we drink a lot of milk. So this is always a good thing for us!
During the promotion, we usually get 3-4 free gallons because of the amount of milk that we buy.
It still works out cheaper if I buy my milk from Kroger and Sam’s than to work the deal from Food Lion.
Anything that’s free is always welcome. Free MILK is even better. :D
