Got some New Year’s goals? Who doesn’t! Well now there is a new site designed specifically to help you achieve your goals. It’s aptly titled “Goalforit” (which to me is a combination of “goal” and “go for it”) and was started by a guy that needed to lose weight, quit smoking, and get in better health. (Sounds like the rest of us, right?) He found that by documenting and tracking his goals, he was able to achieve them easier. He created Goalforit for both adults and kids.

I like the idea of including kids in on this, too. While I wouldn’t put too much pressure on children, I think it’s okay to have a small goal to work for. It helps kids develop a sense of accomplishment and shows them that by doing some small everyday it can add up to big changes. The kids goal area is easy-to-use and 100% free with:
o 30 goals and chores to choose from with the ability for users to create custom goals and chores.
o Charts are always private and created and only accessible from, a Parent’s account.
o The option where users can assign “Moolah” points to goals and chores that the child can earn by demonstrating progress. Moolah can be spent on rewards created by Mom or Dad.
Similar to the traditional way of pen charting progress, this tool by Goalforit! is via the Web, automated and personalized – introducing children to the Internet, in a fun, safe way with their parents guidance. For teenagers and college students, the site allows parents to create a personal network to stay up-to-date on the goals their teens/college students are pursuing.
Adults will benefit from the free solutions that Goalforit offers, like its “Habits and Daily Goals Chart.” When you break a goal down into small pieces, it’s much easier to get your brain around and do. For example, losing 100 pounds is daunting. Saying you want to lose two pounds per week is easier to manage. By seeing that two pounds every week you will feel ahead of your goal instead of overwhelmed by it.
Goalforit offers charts (visuals make things easier), progress status, and even a reward system. They also make sure your personal charts are your own and not visible by other people. Best of all, it’s all free.
