Bratz VS Barbie?
Hm, well. I see a lot of people here flaming Barbie. Why’s that? She teaches children to aim for you dreams and think big. She tells her little sister fairy tales with special morals to help her get through problems. Most of the stories have something to do with applying yourself to the real world, in order to make your dreams reality. Barbie doesn’t just have all-caucasian dools, either. They might not be as colorful as Bratz dolls, but they do differ. I do agree that the expressions of Bratz dolls do help with playing and making your own stories, and when I made a tragedy with my smiling Barbie, it was odd. XD
Barbie isn’t all just happy-hppy joy-joy, unbeknowst to most people. She does have a difficult past, but it’s good to know her strength and ability to get over/not show her true feelings to others. I see some of the comments stating here that she’s outdated, but only if you make her! Barbie’s been coming out with some pretty sleek apparel, just as over-the-top and fun as Bratz clothing. I’m glad Barbie doesn’t dress in as showy clothes though. Remember what age groups these dolls were initially created for. Is it right to convince children that to be beautiful, you need to cake on pounds of makeup, or wear sleazy clothing in public? I think not. What about the inner beauty of yourself? Clothes can help, and it’s loads of fun dressing and redressing dolls, but when the entire line is composed of revealing and suggestive clothes, I think it’s a bit much.
In response to Astrologer Elisabeth S, I agree completely with your Bratz paragraph, except for the portion of body image and skanky clothes. Are you saying that not all girls want to be sucessful and want to live in a harsh life? No education? No good jobs? Partying is fun, but life is not full of enjoyment. How can a woman pay for fun clothes like the Bratz’s if she has no job to support it with? How ca she pay for ANYTHING? Become a prostitute? Work as a cashier all her life? I don’t understand what you were trying to say there.
I’m not trying to bash Bratz. They all seem to lead successful lives in high school/college. Y’know. Enough cash to pay for all their shiny clothes and cars. I do like how they pertain more to the urban-stylized people. Laid back, ready for love, dancing, music, discos… Geez. I’m realizing how much they aren’t good for kids just by listing details of things they do…
bratz will always win because barbie has one thing that she does fairy tails! no man will come and get you like that bratz say that you can do anything you put your mind to that’s why i like bratz p.s. barbies only pink pink pink stop with the pink gosh!!

How can children play at different emotions with a Barbie doll – she smiles and smiles manically at everything and everybody!

Bratz:
With their BIG EYES and CLOSED MOUTHS many different emotions can be read into the Bratz’es faces – contemplation, seriousness etc.
They look at the world, while looking good.
Their BIG HEADS and BIG FEET could be read as INTELLIGENCE and GROUNDEDNESs.
These girls know their mind and can go everywhere – also to university!
And their bodies are big enough for children to create clothes for.
As no little girl thinks she has to swell her head and tripple her feet size to look like a Bratz, it must be concluded, that these dolls are happy cartoons and no danger to anybodys body image.
And the clothes! Skanky? No, every girls wants a great education, an exciting job and to buy something nice and fun for herself with some of her pay.
Besides, Bratz were born as MULTIRACIAL FRIENDS in 2001. Isnt that the future we want our kids to have in this still new 21st century!
Bratz are absolute fine rolemodels, as toys go.

I think that Barbie is the best and i am totally on her side and i agree,Brats dolls are only interested in boys and wear tons of make-ups and wear trashy clothes.If little children are to play with it,how is it going to teach them?
Like,:”Hey!My Brats dolls that my mom bought me taught me how to wear trashy clothes and wear tons of make-ups and be rude to uncool people.”
Though Barbie dolls did not really teach the children anything but they are a tons times better that Brats Dolls.
I think Bratz are better. But I can’t believe Barbie won the lawsuit against Bratz! Those evil dweebs! Bratz are fashionable angels. P.S: There will be no more bratz next year in 2010. Too bad :-( I hope Mattel makes some Bratz dolls and merchandise.
First I was on Barbies side, ’cause I have played with them for years, but then my sister bougth a pair of Bratz and we just ‘fell in love’ with them. So now a im totally on Bratz’s side. Barbies are sooo yesterday

Mattel sued MGA Entertainment for $500 million alleging that Bratz creator Carter Bryant was working for Mattel when he developed the idea for Bratz. On July 17, 2008, a federal jury ruled that the Bratz line was created by Carter Bryant while he was working for Mattel. The jury also ruled that MGA and its Chief Executive Officer Isaac Larian were liable for converting Mattel property for their own use and intentionally interfering with the contractual duties owed by Bryant to Mattel.
with that the jury found that Mattel will be receiving US $100 million
and for Bratz ….
On December 3, 2008, U.S. District Judge Stephen Larson banned MGA from selling Bratz. He allowed the company to continue selling the dolls until the winter holiday season ended.The ruling will be in effect on February 11, 2009 at the earliest, and Mattel and MGA will meet in court on that date. According to the terms of the court order, after the end of the holiday season, MGA must remove, at its own cost, all the Bratz dolls from store shelves, including the reimbursement of the cost of the dolls and all shipping costs to its vendors and distributors.

Barbie is original and ever since bratz have come around there had been alot of conflict Barbie is setting a good example on little girls as they come in different cureers bratz are litlle S.l.u.t.s. who are only 10 years old and wear loads of makeup and kind of wear trashy clothes such as the shortest skirt and are only interested in boys now you tell me is this a good example to set in young minds of children I DONT THINK SO barbie might be old but now they come in other collection and atleast she doesent have a hot air baloon as a head and feet which come of! Barbie might have big boobs and a tiny waist but she is much more of a good example!
