Let Me Just Annotate That

In last week’s Project Blog Challenge, I had just 50 words to show off Babylune’s style. This week, it’s time for an update that gets deeper and goes further than mere posting fashions into the realm of the blogging equivalent of iconic style. While I aim to be the Princess Grace of the Blogosphere (without the tragedy, of course), given my tendency to be a bit of a frumpy mummy, I am going to need a disguise.

Never mind, the dress up box is empty.

I’ll just have to annotate and embellish.

The Babylune Formula (annotated):

B is for baby (see above).

(Actually, while babies are much, much more than cute accessories, Babylune is more about mothers: how to recover from becoming one, how to adjust to being one. It’s all a highly-individualized process. There are no instructions and no guarantees. Hence, the need for women to talk about it endlessly.)

A is all about abdominal amnesia.

(I can’t remember what else I was going to say about this one.)

B is for blueberries.

(Let’s call this fruit part of a larger nutrition discussion. Good nutrition in the postpartum period can prevent a host of ills and start breastfeeding babies on the path to a lifetime of healthy eating…theoretically, anyway.)

Y is for yam, the fertility fruit.

(For those who are finished with fertility, I also mention the snip as an alternative to the sheath.)

Lucky me (see above).

(Pretty obvious, isn’t it?)

U is for what’s under there.

(You really, really don’t want me to go into any more detail on that one, do you?)

Normal, as in, there’s no such thing.

(Like I said, motherhood is a highly individualized process. After all, even a simple activity like staying in to watch TV is subject to very personal tastes.)

Embracing every challenge (see above).

(I like to think I am pretty good with follow through. I think I’ve accomplished most of what I have set out to do. Except for conquering Abdominal Amnesia. I seem to recover a degree of fitness and weight loss, then the needle on the scale stops moving and seems to just get stuck.)

Will you support me in Project Blog with a vote for this post?

This is what I am competing for:

And as a reader here are Reality on Bravo, YOU CAN WIN TOO! Every week, Reality on Bravo is teaming up with some awesome sponsors to offer prizes for lucky readers. Anyone who leaves a comment on Monday’s post or on the voting post will be automatically entered to win the super-awesome prize – bath salts from Solay Wellness, Inc.

As for the competition, you have a say in that too! Every week after Project Runway, Allison will announce the weekly challenge and competitors will scurry away to write some amazing posts. Read them and vote for your favorites. Your votes, along with the opinions of our amazing judges, Bethany (the winner of the RoB “Create Your Own Reality Show” contest) and April (an extraordinary professional writer and blogger), determine who stays and who “goes home.”

Here are the contestant posts you have to choose from (but you should still vote for me).

You know, I can compare these two phenomenon.

I have also broken an ankle, It was in eighth grade and the break was badly set. My ankle didn’t heal properly for years.

    Birth hurts more.

Abdominal amnesia is the best reason to leave women in charge of giving birth. I have a buddy of mine who still talks about how much it hurt to break his ankle in college.

Fortunately for everyone involved, he hates yams.

Sally- I can’t believe that Newsweek is ripping me off, again.

Cynthia- The secret is, the more you link to what you have already written, the less you have to repeat.

Sarah- Aren’t they wonderful indeed? My sister could be a professional shopper and few people know kids better.

Sometimes I have total “duh” moments … I was reading B for Blueberries, and thought “hey, I just read something this week about nutrition and breastfeeding, I bet she’d like it, I should find it …”(Of course I am referring to your post.)

But Newsweek’s most recent cover article is about nutrition and fertility, too!
