Let’s Build a Summer Reading List

Summer ReadingSchool is almost out and while most kids would like to forget all about school, mine can’t wait to start pouring through their favorite books. The school gives them a list of recommended reading, but that just doesn’t hold them over.

Let’s start a group writing project! Help me create the ultimate summer reading list for kids ages 8-18. Either leave me a comment or write your own post and leave me the link in the comments and I’ll get it on the main list. If everyone shares 3-5 of their children’s favorite books, we can ensure our kids always have something good to read this summer.

With each book recommendation include the title, author, category and age group of the interested reader. If you want to include a short summary, too, that is even better.

Here are some of our favorites:

1. Eragon (Inheritance, Book 1) – Christopher Paolini; great book for boys ages 10-18

2. Harry Potter Paperback Box Set (Books 1-6) – J.K. Rowland; for boys and girls ages 10+

3. Baseball Boxed Set – Matt Christopher; boys and girls ages 8+

Don’t forget to add your favorites here – or send me a link to your post!

Joanne – thanks for sharing your list with us! It looks great. I am going to print it out for my daughter – she is bored with what she has right now.

I just found this site, and I’m glad I did! Great idea! I’m always looking for stuff for my daughter to read. I’m not sure how to put a link in the body of the comment, but I linked my list to my name.
