Depending upon the brand of foil that you buy, there may be a special adhesive that is available. The Delta brand that I mentioned above does have a specific foil adhesive.
But you know what? Regular fabric glue works too! So does acrylic medium. Basically, most white glues or mediums will work, but not all of them will give you a look you like on the fabric. I suggest testing any adhesive that isn’t specifically made for the foil. I like fabric glue because it goes on in a thin coating.

Hi Cyndi,
I rather enjoy these tutorials, now that I’ve been watching them over & over. I’m a quilter-stamper-scrapbooker, you name it, that’s me. Soooo, this blog has my undivided attention. What is foil adhesive????? I don’t recall seeing any of this, in my area of Canada. But, maybe it is there, but I didn’t have an excuse to buy it. Thank you for your reply, when you have a moment to do so.
LOL!! Sometimes I slide over the details of using particular products, so if you ever need more info just let me know. I can always to a mini-tutorial with some close up pictures :-)
Cool…thanks for that Cyndi. I didn’t notice the beading? stitching? earlier. Metallic rust paint? wow sounds great..and foil adhesive and foils…my list is getting longer. It makes it so much easier when someone (You) explains what materials are used to get the effect.

Thank you, Peggy! I think that rust qualifies as “junk”, don’t you? ;-)
Nice work!
I used a brand called Delta, which I believe I got at Michael’s. Joann’s probably has it, or something similar, too.
Wow, that sounds great. Do you know where I can find it?
Thanks so much!
Metal leaf which is on a thin plastic backing. You iron it into place with a low heat iron…the plastic part peels off. Great stuff :-)

Very pretty, Cyndi. I too love the embellishments you used – beads, metallic thread and foil.
By foil, you mean metal leaf, right? Like gold leaf, etc.
What size is the quilt?
