Going green doesn’t have to be terribly difficult. Here are ten painless ways to cut your footprint and keep it green and healthy.

- Give up juice boxes: Juice boxes create a ton of unnecessary waste. Grab some affordable refillable stainless steel bottles and refill those for the kids.
- Get a power strip: Plug all your office gear into one handy power strip then simply turn that off when you leave your office.
- Use paper to the max: If you’re not up for paperless living or buying all 100% recycled paper, you can still be green. Use both sides of your paper or give it to the kids to draw on, then recycle when you’re done.
- Buy phosphate free laundry detergent: Easy as pie now and even affordable.
- Choose three organics: Choose three foods your family eats often and always buy those in organic. If I had to make a suggestion I’d say milk, apples, and potatoes.
- Give up paper napkins: Cloth napkins are sooooo much better, long-lasting, and save money. You won’t even miss the paper.
- Sign up for paperless billing: Pay your bills online to save a stamp, save money on checks and stamps, lower emissions, and cut paper use.
- Buy a reusable coffee filter. Get rid of paper and use a much nicer filter.
- Turn off the heat cycle: Your dishwasher doesn’t need to use this energy. Once your dishes get to this stage simply open the door.
- Recycle your cell phone: Cell phones are super easy to recycle nowadays so you’ve got no excuse.
