Top Ten Pet Friendly Cities

Rent.com has released their annual report on the top ten pet friendly cities in the United States, and contains a lot of the usual metropolitan cities you’d expect!

Listed at #1 is New York City, citing that Central Park is a “pet heaven” full of trails and fenced-in dog parks. Pet daycares are also pretty abundant in the city as well.

The remaining cities include:

#2 Chicago, Illinois: Features pet friendly patio dining around the city
#3 Boston, Mass.: Leashed dogs and felines are welcome on the subway and harbor tours
#4 Houston, Texas: Pet friendly restaurants and hotels
#5 San Francisco, California: Features off-leash beaches and parks, and dogs are allowed on cable cars
#6 Austin, Texas: More outdoor cafes and off-leash parks
#7 Washington, DC: Pet friendly restaurants and parks
#8 Portland, Oregon: Home to many pet boutiques and pet restaurants
#9 Charleston, South Carolina: Pets are welcome on all historic day tours as well as nighttime ghost tours
#10 Ann Arbor, Michigan: Pets are welcome at the Nichols Arboretum botanical gardens at the University of Michigan
