Where to get eco-friendly Halloween treats

Time is running out to score some eco-friendly Halloween treats to hand out (or to munch on yourself). Before the big day hits, here are some good places to shop for more eco-friendly Halloween treats…

Sweet Earth Organic Chocolates

Sweet Earth Organic Chocolates has super cute Halloween candy that’s yummy and healthy for the planet.

Your local co-op or the natural section of your normal grocery store – look for treats like candy, fruit leathers, organic twisted fruit, and chocolates labeled organic and Fair Trade. Also look for minimal packaging, although this is one time I’d say avoid the bulk section – parents won’t let their kids eat unwrapped candy for the most part. UNLESS you’re throwing down a Halloween party where everyone knows you, then go to town at the bulk section.

Natural Candy Store carries a huge selection of all sorts of better for you and the planet candy, including Halloween treats. They carry organic, vegan, low-sugar, kosher, and allergen free candy to name a few.

Equal Exchange has organic fairly-traded gourmet chocolate bars, including minis.

Taraluna has a huge array of chocolates for Halloween, including some cool peanut butter cups.

My husband started YummyEarth to make organic treats for our kids without yucky chemical ingredients. We have lollipops and drops in 21 flavors and just launched YummyEarth Organic Gummy Bears and Worms. You can find us at amazon.com, Whole Foods, Toys R Us and other chain and local stores. Happy Halloween.
