Andromeda’s Pearls

Make Art Monday!

Well, the piece that you’ve been suffering along with me while it’s been in progress is done…and it actually has a name without me having to beg for help! Amazing. It’s made from pearls, pearls, pearls, and more pearls. Also, seed beads, crystals, and assorted glass beads and shells. Yay…it’s done!

It is fantastic! I love it!! I think it is about the first of the beaded collars I have seen that the beading wasn’t so structured. Usually everything fits nicely into swirls and rows, but the free form is fantastic. I can’t wait to try one unstructed.

Not at all, Mathi! I think that’s totally normal to think that way… LOL!

Anyway, it’s like a huge collar. I wore it with a shawl-collared jacket, so that just the edges were hidden under the lapels. The top of the beading comes up to just where Frankenstein’s monster’s bolts would be on the sides of his neck. Lovely image, huh? :-D

Amazing work, but I am kind of curious how this would look worn. And what kind of dress would look good with it. Is it bad when you think of the rest of the outfit as an accessory to the necklace?

Thank you, Amanda. I had to let my eyes rest a bit when it was finished…LOL!
