January’s Wolf Moon
This one was a real design challenge for me. I wanted to do something realistic and not cartoonish, but I didn’t want to end up doing a silhouette against the full moon. Even though that would have fit my theme, it’s just done too much. Then I started thinking about the way a wolf’s eyes seem to pierce and penetrate whatever they see, and the way they emerge from the surroundings. So often, a wolf is hard to spot. But those eyes…

Thank you, Ellen and Kathy! OK, that seals it…there’s just something about wolves that girls can’t resist… ;-)
I, too, am quite fond of wolves. Your beaded depiction of wolf eyes is excellent!

Oh Stephie, I am SOOOO jealous of you! Your babies are beautiful. It’s *almost* time for me to get new babies, but not quite yet…
Perfect Cyndi, I love the wolf eyes!!
Ooops – apparently not *sticks picture in blog instead*
They’re stunning eyes and the shape is just right.
I’m another wolf-substitute owner – these are my babies :o) Callie is a white-apricot mix we’ve had since she was 10 weeks and sabre is a black & tan rescue dog.
(hope html image tags work here!)
Thank you, Timaree! I was the owner of German Shepherds for years because I wasn’t allowed to have wolves ;-)
Love those eyes. A very effective page! I love a wolf’s eyes and you are right they are penetrating, knowing, wise. I don’t want to be out with the wolves and coyotes but I love seeing them out in their habitat while my dogs are mostly safe in theirs.
Thank you, Barb! It’s always been the wolf’s eyes that I’ve found so riveting… :-)
That is *so* cool. I loved those eyes.
Thank you, Robin! I am really happy with how it came out this month :-)
The eyes are piercing, indeed! Very good that you avoided the trite and made this moon your own!
Thank you, Sue! You’ve just told me that I was successful :-)
Wonderful page, those eyes are definitely scary.
