How to make “Leona” necklace

Technique Tuesday

For a long time, I have been hoarding some broken strands of beads and some loose crystals that I received when my husband’s beloved grandmother passed away.  A few weeks ago, Artbeads.com sent me a gorgeous Victorian Trellis Bead Frame to try out, and the match became obvious in my mind.  I really wanted whatever project I did with Grandma’s beads to honor the simple classic style that she favored, and the exquisite details and old-fashioned charm of the bead frame was the answer to using her beads properly.

I’ve included my exact bead count below, so if you want to follow my pattern you can.  But I would encourage you to simply take the general idea and make your own necklace that honors some of your own special beads!

Step-by-step instructions

Thanks Linda! I think if you use an ornate element but keep the basic design simple, it doesn’t end up so overwhelmingly frou-frou Victorian :-)

So simple and elegant all in one! Thanks for sharing. I have typically stayed away from ornate Victorian-style pieces in my designs, but this one has certainly given me reason to re-think that! Stunning!

Thank you, Audrey. I’m a redhead, so I wear a lot of amber and browns :-)

BTW, it comes up in a separate window, so make sure that your computer isn’t blocking it as a pop-up.

Click on “Step by step instructions” at the bottom of the post…the link is fine, but maybe the other site was offline for a short while yesterday or something…??

When I click on the instructions link I get a notice that this link is broken. I really would like a copy of these instructions as an inspiration idea. Is there some other way to download them? Thanks.
